Guest Chef Olivia shares a favorite appetizer recipe!

Pickle Roll-Ups Appetizer recipe

Pictured above is an appetizer that guest chef Olivia likes to make with cream cheese, dill pickles, and Buddig meat: Pickle Roll-ups

About this appetizer, Olivia says, "This may not sound or look very appetizing- but they are gone, quick as a wink when we bring them anywhere. The combination is great!"

Next time I'm going somewhere and need an easy side dish or finger food to take along, I'm definitely going to make these!

So this is what these are called...We've always had these as appetizers at our family gatherings. And I thought it was one of those weird Wisconsin recipes that someone made up. This is by far one of the BEST appetizer recipes ever. EVER! Thank you for sharing! :)

The name of this recipe was changed. Joshua said "No eyeball recipes. Call it something else! Especially around Halloween." ;)

lol... on the name change. I am not the one who came up with that silly name, I assure you. ;) Pickle roll-up's sound a lot more appetizing.

Well, at least you're not upset that I changed it! That was my one hesitation (I had it all set up with the original name); I said, "But it's Olivia's recipe! I can't change the name of a guest chef's recipe!" But Joshua said "No eyeballs. This is a recipe website, and it has to sound appetizing." LOL! :D

Well, whenever you say the 'eyeball' word around the church ladies and our extended family they all perk up real quick. ;) So I guess appetizing words are in the "eye" of the beholder. Personally, I agree with Joshua. The name is a turn-off........until you taste them, that is.

...and after these raving reviews, I'm thinking about making these Pickle Roll-Ups soon! Wink

Names don't matter. How something LOOKS doesn't really matter. At least, not when it's an all-time family favorite! :D

Have you tried this recipe with Armour dried beef substituted for the Budding lunch meat? It is saltier, and I suppose more expensive, but so tasty. I'm definitely craving this appetizer now.

No, I haven't. I just buy the Buddig look-alike that Aldi's sells for 30-some cents a packet ;)
