Welcome to guest chef Amy Faber!

Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe

Amy Faber loves to cook! She often bakes Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies for her older brothers. About her Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe, Amy writes, "This chocolate chip cookie recipe uses plenty of chocolate (which I love), and has a chewy inside texture, although nicely crispy on the outside when baked just right." Of course, like all chefs, she has had annoying experiences where she burned the cookies, but she keeps on cooking and her food just gets better and better! ;)

Easy Three-Cheese Enchiladas recipe

Another of Amy's favorites is her Easy Three-Cheese Enchiladas. She frequently makes a large dish of these at lunchtime for her family, and there are rarely leftovers. Why does Amy love these enchiladas? "Easy Three-Cheese Enchiladas is fun to make and fairly simple... it has a lot of flavor, but is not overbearingly spicy." You can, of course, spice up her enchiladas to your liking, and Amy notes that she usually adds some refried beans inside them, too!

Amy can sometimes be found in the kitchen as early as 5:00 am, making muffins, cream cheese brownies, or whatever else suits her fancy. Other times, Amy likes to stay up late baking things like caramel pecan rolls. During the day, Amy is a homeschooled student in 8th grade, and spends time writing, scrapbooking, and practicing violin and piano. She has taken music lessons since she was quite young and loves playing hoe-downs.

Puppy Chow recipe

Puppy chow is another thing Amy likes to make. This easy no-bake recipe can be whipped up in a flash, and tastes like a delicious candy bar treat! (Think Kit Kat) Here is Amy's Homemade Puppy Chow recipe! It makes a large amount, because you will want to eat a large amount, once you taste it! Amy has even been known to eat her puppy chow in a bowl with milk for breakfast! In her own words, "Puppy chow is amazingly easy to make, but can be addicting. It is great for taking places when you are in a hurry. It is a handy snack food, and one most people enjoy."

Wow...

I notice a pretty strong family resemblance there... ;)

The enchiladas are on the menu for tomorrow night!

Thanks Amy!

Yep ;)

Actually people say I look like both of my sisters. I guess my face looks like Amy's, and my hair color/height like Bonnie's. People used to get Bonnie and me mixed up, but now I weigh more than she does. :D

I hope you like the enchiladas! I love mexican foods. Or rather, my versions of them. ;) Joshua told me yesterday, "I think you were born in the wrong country!" :D

Hehehe

I always get mistaken as my brother's YOUNGER sister (um, I'm almost 25...he's 20. *frown*)...I don't look like him persay, but being 5'1 has its downfalls. ;)

Well, being part Mexican, I have a special place in my diet for them! One thing I've learned in my years of cooking is this: never, EVER use low fat/fat free cheese. It just plain stinks. It melts unevenly, gets clumpy, and such.

I'm going to soak beans tonight for refried beans tomorrow...Oh I love this website!

;)

Thanks!

I've never used low-fat cheese (low-fat just isn't something I think about, I guess! We always use whole milk!).

One time, we bought whole-milk mozzarella cheese and tried to use it on pizza. NOW we know... there's a difference. ;)

Glad you like the site... and thanks for reminding me-- I need to soak some beans here, too! Black ones :D

Low fat cheese

I tried it just because it was in the clearance bin, even though it had an expiration date in November. Talk about YUCK! And the scary thing is, my mom swears by fat free cheese.

I'd have been better off spending the full price on regular cheese.

Way to go Amy! Those foods

Way to go Amy! Those foods look delicious esp. the Enchiladas ( I love those!). I must confess I was a little skeptical about the Homemade Puppy Chow recipe but figured it must be something edible. =)
