A delicious quick-and-easy dessert or snack of Chex cereal coated with chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar

About 18 cups

1 stick butter
18 cups corn or rice chex cereal (or off-brand equivalent)
2 cups chocolate chips (12 ounce bag)
1 cup peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3-4 cups powdered sugar (use more if needed)

1. Divide powdered sugar in half in 2 gallon-sized zip-lock bags. Set aside.

2. Put the cereal in a large bowl. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter over low heat. Stir in vanilla. Pour over cereal in bowl and stir until coated.

3. Spoon cereal into the two bags of powdered sugar. Seal the bags, leaving extra air-space inside, and shake to coat. When the cereal is thoroughly coated open the bags and let them cool, over the course of about 30 minutes stirring them each a couple of times.* Close bag after cool.

Homemade Puppy Chow

*You can also spread the finished puppy chow out on a cookie sheet to cool, if you don't want the bother of having to stir it occasionally as it cools. Basically you just want to prevent soggy puppy chow due to condensation!

A family favorite
I haven't made this in a LOOOONNNGGG time but it is one of my favorites. We call it Muddy Buddy Mix. Thanks for reminding me, I think it's time for another batch!

My husband liked them as much as my kids :)
This was very fun to make with my 5 year old, it was so easy for him to help make. He was so proud of himself and could not wait to give my husband some when he came home. Yummy!

This is excellent! I eat it for breakfast whenever we've made some. It doesn't last long at my house! The chocolate/peanut butter coating makes a VERY sweet cereal for my siblings and I, when our parents only buy plain cereals. :-)

Oh, yum... yum... yum!!
This is one of the most addicting desserts/snacks! I think it tastes like Kit Kat bars... or some other really good candy bar or something. This recipe is easy enough for kids to make, and so so yummy.
