Tammy's Recipes

When asked about her recipe, guest chef Cheri Cross says, "This recipe quickly became my favorite for not having the 'same old mashed potato' flavor, but a rich, creamy, and cheesy taste."

Indeed, anyone who tries these "Gourmet Potatoes" must admit that they are far from being a bland side dish. These potatoes are absolutely wonderful, and amazingly easy to prepare! Seasoned to perfection, this is a perfect dish to make for guests, since you can have it all ready to go in the oven before they even arrive. It's also an excellent use for leftover mashed potatoes. Since trying this recipe, we purposely make extra mashed potatoes, hoping for leftovers to use in this recipe! ;)

Cheri specializes in making bread, trying out new recipes, and making old family favorites. About her Gourmet Potatoes, Cheri says, "Mama tries to eat healthy and so we don't fix it very often... but whenever we do, it is always a real highlight as the person who made it, and someone who enjoys eating it."

Cheri gets her cooking experience as the second oldest of seven children still living at home. She writes, "Since there are 5 girls, including Mama, we all try to help out in the kitchen with making meals and so forth, when we can. Some of us do have our 'specialties' and mine is usually making bread, trying out new recipes, or making an old family recipe (which is usually not the healthiest!) to make for a special occasion."

Cheri has a variety of hobbies besides cooking. She loves music and enjoys playing and teaching violin. She also enjoys graphic design, gardening, having tea, and just about anything
old-fashioned and feminine!

Cheri also likes to sew, and she and her older sister Erin operate a modest apparel business, A Joyful Handmaiden, which they do from home.
