How frequently do you try a new recipe?

I said 1-3 times per month, but really, it's whenever I have time, feel like it, or see something I really really really want to try. =) With working full time, and keeping up with wife-hood and a house, I tend to stay with our few favourite and quick recipes!! =) But, yum, I love finding new favourites!

Although a couple weeks ago, we had a meal with 3 (of 4) things being new recipes!

Usually every few days I'll try a new recipe. Sometimes I'll go a week without trying something new, but even if I don't try a completely new recipe, I'm constantly experimenting with stuff ;)

But, I also have our old favorites like energy bars and granola and those are things I just ALWAYS try to keep on hand :D

I really don't know how often I try new recipes. I am kind of weird when it comes to cooking in that I guess I just don't think a whole lot about recipes at all. Most of what we do for main meals around here involves various versions of the same basic recipes. So does it really count as trying a new recipe if you've substituted more than half of the ingredients?! I don't know. And the other side of the coin is that I hate trying something new when I know something that already works quite well. Unless, of course, I've already tasted it...or, on here, seen awesome pictures of it. Tonight will be the first night we try out a recipe from here. That should be fun.

Well, when I substitute things (which I usually do!) I still consider it "trying a new recipe", but if I like what I make, I usually end up re-naming it because it's so unlike the original recipe! haha

I'm blessed because Joshua likes me to try new recipes :D

And, I usually have a good idea of what we will like. I have tried new recipes that didn't sound good at all (usually from cookbooks or some unreliable source) and we hated them. Now if a recipe sounds awful, I either change it a little or just don't make it. :)

Depends on how motivated I am.

We get very bored with same-o same-o.

Last week I made my own Egg Rolls and General Tso's chicken. It was GREAT! Today we tried 3 new recipes. Including your butter spread recipe!

Before, I used to like to try new recipes just for something different, then it started growing on me and now I have so many that I can't wait to try! I try a new one at least 3 times a week. It helps keep my blog going and it's great fun for me! :)

This is the first I've been on this site. My SIL gave me the link this afternoon. I love it!

At least once a week if not more. i usually leave one day open on my menu for trying new things. Hubby loves it when I come up with something new that he has never had before as it eases the boredom.

I use to try new recipes more often but my hubby is deployed and so I stick with what the kids would like me to make. They kinda shrug off new things right now. They want as little change as possible.

I put 1-2.Some weeks I will try out 3-5 just depends on how many I see and what I have on hand to be able to try some :)

Since I only cook about 4 times a week, I would say that half that is new stuff and the other half is left-overs or old recipes. :) I have the unfortunate tendancy to cook for about 6 people when we're only two, so we end up with lots of leftovers. Sometimes I like to think of it as practicing for when we have a larger family, hehe. :P

I voted 1-3 times a month. Maybe it is once a week, but then often a week can go by and I've just made the old recipes. :) ~Tanya

I want to try new things and try to cook new things but sometimes there just isn't time. I try to cook something new on Sat. so if it doesn't turn out great I can run to the store! :)

I usually try at least 2 new recipes a week, but then I am big into baking. My current kick is sourdough bread. But It also depends on my schedule, sometimes it can be daily!!!
