Our apple pies, plus a little about my day

This morning's trick was to get out the bottle of concentrated Dawn dishwashing liquid and squirt several large spots onto his bedroom carpet. This took Yehoshua only a minute or two, and Joshua and I scrubbed the carpet for a full hour before giving up on ever completely removing all the lather. By then, I had a half-load of towels and rags that had been used in an effort to clean the floor... and my load of diapers wasn't even started!

I managed to get the diapers washed and hung before we left to go see my cousin, and when I got back home, I did another load of laundry in the hopes that it would still dry. As I was hanging it out, the clouds completely covered the sun. Thankfully, it didn't rain, but I do need to go out and get the laundry down before it gets much later... it might rain tonight! :)

We had a quick dinner of Taco Salad. Yehoshua had a bath, and helped me wash dishes. We straightened up the house a little, paid several bills, and wrote somewhat of a to-do list for tomorrow. There's a busy week ahead, with Yehoshua's surgery on Tuesday and Joshua's grandma (from Washington state) arriving here (by car) possibly Wednesday or Thursday. We're SO excited about her visit!!

And one last thing: I just wanted to call your attention to this week's Recipe of the Week: Homemade Beef Bologna. This is a yummy homemade lunchmeat, great for sandwiches or snacks. It's also easy to prepare! So, if you feel like making a nice snack this week... try the bologna ;)

Great!

I hope you all like it!

I'm sure you've had your share of messes. I'm glad it's all cleaned up... at the time those things can be very frustrating to me if I let them... because I see my day being spent scrubbing carpet instead of doing all the things I had planned...

I completly understand!! I

I completly understand!! I often feel the same way and see my day instead of doing the things I planned to do, getting buried under the mess I have to clean up first!!

It's funny to think...

...of what life was like before there were children to make messes :D

We've never had a lot of breakable things, or things for children to get into, in our house, but recently I was looking at some photos of our home when Yehoshua was a few months old. I can see we've slowly phased out things like candles, doilies, etc. :) And Yehoshua has helped us de-clutter by breaking a few things! haha
