I did my grocery shopping this week at Costco. I spent quite a bit, but we also got quite a lot of yummy food! It totally filled our kitchen table when I tried to take a picture! :)
Here is a price breakdown of what I bought:
Baking potatoes (20#) $4.49
Organic red delicious apples (10#) $6.49
Romaine lettuce (6 ct.) $2.99
Bananas (3#) $1.32 (x2)
Mission tortilla strips (3#) $3.35
Mission flour tortillas (5#14oz) $4.99
Butter (4#) $6.39
Tillamook sliced swiss cheese (2#) $7.29
Shredded mozzarella cheese (5#) $9.79
Whole milk (2 gal.) $4.34
Darigold cream (40% fat) (1/2 gal.) $5.99
Whole chickens (2) (9.52#) $9.42
Frozen strawberries (5#) $8.85
Organic frozen green beans (5#) $5.99
Applesauce (106oz) $3.65
Quaker rolled oats (10#) $6.89
KS "enviro-friendly" dish soap (135oz) $7.99
Toilet paper (36 rolls) $17.99
Vaseline Intensive Care lotion set $8.99 (w/coupon)
Total: $132.32
Romaine lettuce is one of my favorite things to get at Costco, since it's so affordable! And the Red Delicious apples... we tried some from this bag and they are so fresh and crisp! Yum! :)
We seem to go through a lot of toilet paper, but the dish soap and lotion will last us quite a long time (about a year for the dish soap, and probably 4+ years for the lotion). :)

Dish Soap
How do you like the KS dish soap? I've been wondering if it's worth trying. Some of the more environmenally friendly soaps I've tried have been awful, so I've been afraid to buy so much just to try it out!
KS dish soaps
I have actually not tried the Kirkland Signature "enviro-friendly" dish soap yet. I am hoping it works well (since it seems like most KS products are GREAT!) but I can return it if I really hate it, I guess! I've actually never used enviro-friendly dish soap before, so hopefully it's good!! :)
When we moved here a year ago, Joshua's grandma gave me a gallon jug of Kirkland Signature regular dish soap (anti-bacterial, orange colored) and it works really well, but I prefer to not use soap with Triclosan in it so I opted for the next-cheapest option (cheaper than Dawn and Palmolive at Costco, anyway). I have a week or two's amount of the old soap left and then I'll try the new bottle and see what I think. :)
I can't believe romaine is
I can't believe romaine is that cheap!! Good job girl. I wish we had a costco near us.
Toilet paper
Was the quantity on your package of toilet paper really only 36 rolls? That doesn't really seem like a great deal. I've been getting 4 roll packs of White Cloud at Walmart for $1 per pack after using $1 off one coupons from the All You magazines.
The apples sound great, though! I've never seen a deal that good on apples at our Costco!!
Yes, the Costco toilet paper
Yes, the Costco toilet paper is 36 rolls... my package says 425 sheets per roll (2-ply), 1912.5 sq ft. I hate doing TP math but I do know the rolls are pretty big and last longer than most... so maybe they are like "double rolls" or something? :)
