We've been busy with living life... learning... fellowshipping... and of course, cooking! I have several great recipes to share but honestly -- the days just keep flying past and I've been choosing extra sleep and extra family time over computer time. :) The days have been beautiful and sunny, and we're making the most of the sunshine before the rainy Seattle fall/winter/spring weather sets in! ;)
Our church has a potluck every week and it's fun to get to try new foods! Asking others for their recipe/tips/help is my favorite way to expand my menus and learn more about food! :) Anyway, here's a delicious recipe I got from a friend at church.:)
Balsamic Pear Green Salad is a yummy tossed salad with feta cheese and almonds, and topped with pears that have been browned in butter on the stovetop.
I had never had a lettuce salad with pears before, and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was! I also really love Balsamic vinegar dressings, which this salad uses.
Overall, I think the flavors combine wonderfully and an added perk is the "gourmet" presentation with pear wedges on top. ;) I will definitely be using this salad when I make dinner for guests this fall. :)
