My favorite potato soup

Creamy potato soup recipe

Creamy Potato Soup was on our menu this week... so yummy! I made a double batch so the children and I could have enough leftovers for lunch one day this week as well. :)

I also tried making my oven-roasted chicken in the slow cooker for the first time this week. We had a fairly hot week and I didn't want to turn on the oven! The crock pot worked great for the chicken, and I'll definitely be using that method in the future for days when we're going to be away from home before mealtime. :) (See the recipe's additional notes section for the temperature and time I used with the slow cooker.)

I've been roasting chickens

I've been roasting chickens in a crock pot for years know but just this week I found the BEST EVER recipe for it. Here is the link:

My 11 yr old son is BEYOND picky and he LOVED this chicken and went back for seconds! I doubt I'll ever cook a chicken in the crock pot any other way again :-)

Thank you!

Tammy... I just love your blog, but I really love this soup! I don't usually make a lot of soups, which is something I am trying to change.

My husband absolutely LOVED this recipe... he asks for it all the time. I love it too. So easy, so cheap and so yummy. Thanks for all you do!

This looks yummy!

We add a soup night to our weekly menus during the fall and winter months. My kids' favorite is potato soup. I'll have to give your version a try. It looks yummy!! Thanks for sharing this!!

Many blessings!

Chicken..

Your soup sounds lovely! Tammy, did you know that you can take chicken bones and leftover veggies/scraps and make broth in your crockpot too? Just let it simmer away on low all day. It makes a wonderful broth, I do it all the time after i've made chicken.

crock pot love

Tammy I am so glad you have a great experience with roasting the chicken in the crockpot. Such a time saver. I love to make baked potatoes in my crock pot. Score clean potatoes wrap in foil through in the crock pot with no water for 3-4 hours on high.
