I am in the market for a bread machine. What kind do you have? I definitely want one that will knead dough. What are features that you really like about yours?
I wrote about my bread machine here. If you read the comments on that post, there are lots of recommendations and ideas from others, too! :)
You can also use the search box on the right sidebar of my website... type in "bread machine" and it should bring up different posts where I talked about what I like to do with my machine, tips, etc... :)
I think all bread machines knead the dough. As you will read in my post I don't bake in my machine, I just use it to knead the dough. It maintains a nice warm environment for that first rise, too!
I use my bread machine A LOT. I do all kinds of stuff in it... probably even stuff I'm not supposed to do (like mixing up 3 loaves of bread at once! I "help" it along with a spoon if needed...)but I just figure I may as well enjoy it and get as much out of it as I can! :)
It also has a timer feature, meaning -- I can put the ingredients for pizza dough in the bread machine and have it set to start mixing up the dough while I'm away (or just really busy!) and it just makes life easier sometimes... like coming home from the grocery store or waking up in the morning and having a head start on the bread.
I have even set bread dough on the timer feature and had the dough ready to be made into loaves at 6 am! Nothing like hot fresh bread for breakfast, right? ;) Actually, the bread machine going off when I'm supposed to be getting up is a good way to ensure that I get out of bed and start being productive. For me, it helps kick me into gear for the day! :)

If you're not going to bake
If you're not going to bake in your machine, I'd recommend looking into a kitchen aid stand mixer instead. I find that bread turns out better if I use that rather than my bread machine, even for just dough, and it really doesn't take much extra time.
For my machine, I have a breadman (not sure on the model) and like it fine. I just think things turn out better made in my mixer. Plus I can use it for more than just bread!

I had a round bread machine (unique!) that died a couple of months ago and before I went out and just bought another I decided to look into the top brands.
I use my machine for dough and baking so I wanted one that had good reviews for both. I finally decided on a Breadman (it wasn't as expensive as some, but has great reviews) and then bought one from a local store. My motto is to not get the most expensive thing, but get one that will last long enough to make the cost reasonable.
All in all, I like my machine, it mixes pretty well. (I only notice flour crusties on the sides with 100% whole wheat loaves, but thats fixed with a finger swipe.) It has more features than I need, but it has some that I really wanted (like the whole grain cycle). My husband likes that it isn't a round loaf because he thinks its easier to slice (I think its no different). My only complaint is that sometimes it seems like the bread and the crust dry out really fast. If I take the dough out and bake in the oven it stays soft longer. Also, if I remove the bread immediately it is softer. I think the stay warm feature blows air around drying out the crust.
Bosch
I got a Bosch mixer to make my bread. It is an investment that isn't cheap but I use it for so much more than just baking bread. I got the shredder slicer attachment and now shred my own cheese, make my own french fries, ect. I love my mixer. I can make 6 lg loaves of bread at a time. Or 4 lg french loaves. Compared to a Kitchen Aid's highest watt at 575 it is 800 watt. They are similiar in price when comparing KA's pro model. I got it from Nutrition Lifestyles. Dixie was a great help!
