Welcome to guest chef Lindsey Sorgard of Alberta, Canada!

Mandarin Chicken Salad, pictured with Italian Cheese Bread and Iced Sweet Tea [0]

The first recipe Lindsey shares is for Mandarin Chicken Salad [0], an attractive main dish or addition to a fancier meal. Lindsey tells about why she likes this recipe: "This salad is quick to prepare and makes for a nice fresh, light meal. I especially enjoy making it this time of year since I can use lettuce from my garden." Keep reading for a photo of Lindsey's garden! :)

Along with this salad, why not make some Iced Sweet Tea [0]? "This tea has become a favourite drink of ours. My sister-in-law from the south introduced us to this tea as we were always used to the mix. It took a little while to acquire a taste for but now I make it regularly."

Italian Cheese Bread [0]

Lindsey's twin sister, Erin likes to make this pretty Italian Cheese Bread [0]. It's a bread sprinkled with seasonings, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese, then baked! Lindsey writes, "My sister makes this delicious bread. It has a wondeful Italian taste and goes nice with a salad or even just by itelf."

For dessert, Lindsey suggests some tangy summery lemon bars [0]!

Lindsey's Lemon Bars [0]

Lindsey recently made this recipe, and wrote: "It is easy to prepare and makes a nice (and sweet!) dessert. This was the first lemon bar recipe I tried a few years ago and it instantly became a favourite."

Lindsey's Garden

I asked Lindsey for a picture of her garden, since I know she raises a large one each year. She claims to enjoy working in her garden, even doing weeding! :)  In Alberta where Lindsey lives, she has to irrigate her garden. If you look closely you can see the equipment they use. :)

Thank you, Lindsey, for sharing your recipes with us!! :)
