Apple crisp... yum!![]() I'm too tired to write much tonight... Here is some apple crisp we made with apples that were given to us. The apples were "drops", so they were far from perfect -- but the flavor was fantastic! I love apple crisp from apples I find near my home. I find apple trees growing in fields or by the road. The apples just lay there and no one picks them up. The flavor of these apples is superior - far better than any store bought apple. That looks good! I gave you a blog award. Come on over when you get a chance and check it out. :) Have a great day! (www.danielsprogress.blogspot.com) I just made this the other night. Q had his with a little ice cream, but I drizzled some caramel over mine. It was so good we finished the whole pan. Good thing I made a 1/4 recipe, because if I'd made more, I certainly would have eaten it all! I use more apples for the 9 x 13 pan (about 15 cups) and less brown sugar (about 3/4 cup). What type of apples are best for the apple crisp recipe and/or apple pies. My apple pies never come out right and I think it's the type of apples I used. We adore this in our home! Our favorite is to make apple pie/crisp - putting the mix in a pie shell. And of course, serving it with vanilla ice cream... mmmhm! Post new comment |
