Do the pictures of our meals actually give you menu ideas, or do you just like to look at food?

I don't really think any of the answers fit me. I come here primarily for the recipes. I'm used to regular paper cookbooks, which usually don't have pictures for all the recipes - so your pictures are just a bonus.

I enjoy the miscellaneous posts, but I was originally drawn here for the recipes. And KTT. I love KTT :-)

The PrudentWife says it exactly right for me also...

I don't think the combos are too weird.
Now, personally, I would have served the cantelope in a little bowl to the side, like a dessert.

But what can be more "traditional american fare" than bbq/grilled chicken, corn on the cob and green beans???? Hot Dogs and Apple Pie?!!?

I can tell that your family is young though by the amount of pizza you guys eat.....wait till you and Josh get a little older......you will have indigestion for days! LOL....actually I hope not.

I like the pictures you shoot of your food.

Have a great day!

I appreciate the pictures-sure, I read through the ingredient list to see if it something we might like, but the pictures are a great bonus.

I voted neither. I like many of your recipes but your combinations of things are not usually the way I'd put them together (such as the recent chili, corn and bread...all yummy- looking items but we don't eat so many starches in one meal, just normally one). Your blog is enjoyable, regardless!

I LOVE seeing pictures... sometimes I don't even use the recipes, but guess from the picture what you put in it and do my own version :) .

The pictures are nice. The combination of foods are quite different then what I"d put together, but its still enjoyable!

Okay, I know I do some weird combos of food... especially when I've been given lots of garden veggies. ;)

Anyone notice that the huge piles of peas have been absent from our plates recently?! We were getting tired of peas after eating about 5 pounds of them every week all winter!! :)

I do enjoy the pictures even though I do agree with the last comment :) But I have tried a few recipes, because it looked really good in the picture....

I come here for the recipes! They're great!

I do enjoy the pictures - but I agree with the previous comment - your food combinations wouldn't usually be my first choice.

Although we don't eat the way you do, (I don't serve bread with pasta--too many starches)I like looking at food regardless!
I originally came here for some of your healthier recipes (WW breads, etc) and stayed for your frugal tips, family photos and daily inspiration.
I love this place and hope it continues!

While I *do* love looking at pictures of food, I also come here to get ideas and great recipes, and read about your great family in general.

I would have to say both!

I love making food look presentable!

I like to look at the photos to see if what I made came out looking like it should!

I read your blog for all the beautiful photos, plus the updates on your family and the kitchen/frugal tips. When I want to try a new recipe, I usually go to your archives and browse.

After cooking for DH for 15 years, we're tired of what we know and looking for new stuff. I love the fact that I can identify all the ingredients in your recipes, so I come here a lot :)

Tammy,

I had to vote neither as I really come for everything; the misc. posts, recipes, and pictures. Having lived much of my childhood in Europe and having been around the military my whole life I can attest that I have seen odd combinations. I have never seen anything odd at your site. No, some things are not always my preference but that happens even in my own household. Addressing the starch issue, you should how many nations eat! Italians may eat lots of veggies but it is not unusual to eat two or even three starches at a meal! In many meals the starch takes place of the meat and is eaten earlier in the day. We do eat more starches as our children are very active and we have a hard time keep them filled due to their activity levels. I guess it also depends on the time of year. Summer we eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies, winter more carbs to stay warm. Climate really does make a difference!

By the way I love your blog!!! My family is looking forward to the homemade pepperoni!
