My favorite soup is Clam Chowder, but I've never attempted to actually make it. My favorite soup *I* make is a great tomato-based bean soup. Yum!!

I just love chicken with rice soup. For some reason I seem to like it better with rice than pasta. It's so comforting in the winter or when we're sick.

I hope you might post even more soup recipes for the fall/winter. I'd love to experiment more and soups are so frugal too.

I like chicken corn chowder.

Taco Soup! Love it! We haven't had soup for months... just can't stomach it during the summer. But fall will be here before we know it -- then I'll get my taco soup fix. I also love twice-baked potato soup, chili, and chicken noodle (NOT CANNED!!!)I have not found a tomato soup that I'm willing to eat... maybe you can help me out with that sometime. ;-)

My favorite is the soup I make with all the leftovers from the week. It's not the prettiest soup, but it's good and tastes different every week!

My favorite soup is Beef and Bacon Chowder that I make at home. Actually it's everyone's favorite in our family.:)

I LOVE Split Pea soup. It was one of the first green foods my daughter devoured with glee.

I also like Chicken Tortilla soup, most recipe variations of this soup are fine by me.

The Top Secret Recipes version of Island's Chicken Tortilla Soup. Comfort food at its finest, and all homemade... no funky chemicals/MSG. There's nothing like a soup with garnishes so spicy (the spicy fried tortilla strips) they make your nose run. ;-) I think I could eat that soup by the gallon. Especially when I'm feeling down or ill (the sinus-clearing spiciness is particularly good when you're ill). I like it way better than plain chicken soup.

Comfort food isn't all bland in my book! ;-p

New Mexico Green Chile! It is made with lots of onions, garlic, varying amounts of chile powder, green chiles, and pork or poultry (depending on your preference!) We use pork due to food allergies. It can be really spice or just mildly so.

chili...I'm not a big soup fan. I make soup for my family to eat, and I'll eat a salad instead or something. But I'll eat chili anytime! Altho I never did consider it a soup..because it's thicker than soup. Makes sense tho!

Recently I just started adding Garbanzo beans to our chili. A little extra protein, and can't even taste them!

But it has to be the homemade kind. I add cream of chicken soup while I'm making it to make it a little thicker.

We can only pick one? I love almost any kind of soup. If I had to pick a favorite it would be potato topped with cheddar cheese and scallions and cracked black pepper. Yum!

But-- there are a lot of close seconds!

I love most all soups (vegetarian, of course), but Bean soups are my most favorite. 15 bean soup, or even one bean soup. They are just so comforting.
Potato corn chowder comes in a close second though, and I make a vegetarian Chicken and Peanut Butter vegetable soup that is yummy too.

My favorite is probably Italian Wedding Soup, and I loosely follow the Spaghetti Warehouse recipe from www.meatballs.com. Loosely because I make my own chicken stock and use only beef in the meatballs. This is also my hubby and children's favorite soup.

soup is Minestrone soup!

We have a weekly soup night in the winter and we like so many different soups.
I think though that Chicken tortilla soup is our overall favorite. We like taco, albondigas, black bean, split pea, tomato, and gumbo. The kids really like clam chowder too.

I just love soup.

Submitted by raspberrykitty on Mon, 2008-08-25 17:48.

I can't choose just one, but a few of my favorites are homemade vegetable, homemade potato (My husband's mom makes both of these a lot and I love being able to bring some home because they're so good!), tomato and homemade chili.

I have an issue with white soup (with the exception of potato usually.) If I look at it or think about it while I'm eating it, I'll feel sick. I have no idea what that's about, but I try to avoid white soup.

My two favourite soups would have to be pumpkin soup made fresh and garnished with fresh chopped parsley and a good dollop of sour cream, or fresh made potato and bacon soup with a good handful of fresh chopped parsley. My eldest daughter's favourite is Lamb and vegetable made fresh with the leftover roast lamb leg from Saturday night roast dinner, the more meat left on it the better for soup she thinks! Fresh crusty homemade bread rolls are always a must and makes soup into a full meal. My rolls have just come out of the oven ready to go with pumpkin soup we made this morning for tonight's dinner. Time to set the table now!

My favorite is Beef with Barley. Especially when my husband's grandma makes it.

My family love pumpkin soup (just like Rebekah above with parsley and sour cream).

I love Beef Barley soup. It is one that my Grandma used to make also.

We also enjoy Corn Chowder which is made with a base of creamed corn and sometimes has grated cheese added.

I like almost all soups. Homemade sweet potato, Cincinnati chili, corn chowder, or minestrone...restaurant butternut squash, hot and sour, curried pumpkin...
