Whole wheat strawberry shortcake

I think this has to be my favorite dessert. Fresh homemade cake, real whipped cream, and garden-fresh strawberries. I feel very spoiled.

I wish we had access to strawberries here! I am planning on planting a good patch of them now that I have a house, I hope I can get some good ones sometime!

Yummy

I made this today and it is soooooo yummy. I didn't have any whole wheat flour on hand, but it was still wonderful!

CAKE

We picked strawberries on Friday and so on Sat. we made this cake recipe and it is delich!! thanks for sharing

Oh my!

That looks delicious. Strawberry shortcake has been my favorite dessert since I was a child. It's one of the things I most look forward to every summer when the local berries ripen! I need to buy some whipping cream and make some for dessert tonight.

I wish I could make strawberries thrive in my yard, but our soil is mostly clay and I haven't yet figured out how to make it drain well enough to grow strawberries. Luckily we have a U-Pick farm about 15 minutes down the road.
