Plates for children![]() We used leftover chicken meat from an oven-roasted chicken to make hot chicken sandwiches for lunch today. I served the sandwiches with asparagus and easy bread sticks. These two plates were for Yehoshua (4) and Eliyahu (2). They eat the same amount usually, though is does seem as though their appetites are slowing down a little right now. Maybe they're finishing off that growth spurt. :) I've been putting their food on small saucer-sized plates, as it seems to encourage them to not make a mess. They also do better about eating their food rather than picking through it, spreading it around on the plate, and then saying "I'm full. Can I have dessert?" ;) Yes, Tammy! This is what I do for my littles. They seem to eat better for me. I think that the smaller plate makes them think they don't have so much food to eat. Some of my youngest don't like certain foods and, if I put a little bit on a little plate, they are more willing to try it. I was given a set of Corelle dishes and they had a smaller set of plates. I have the regular size and then a smaller size and then tea cup plates. I found replacement plates and accesories at Walmart to add to my set. I think its great and I love them. I look forward to your blog everyday. I might not get to read everyday, but I catch up when I do. Blessings, Do they eat all that food that you show there? I have a picky 3 and 6 year old that we work on eating constantly. Do you have problems with that? Post new comment |

I found putting littles' food on little plates helps to remind ME to give them kid-sized portions. :) So it's helpful for that as well!
