Get $25 for 5 minutes of your time, plus help support our website! This is rather shameless, but on the other hand -- it's free money! Crystal posted the whole scoop here (with lots of commentors verifying that this is legit!). Basically, sign up for this better-than-Paypal service and get a free $25. I just signed up, and yep -- $25 in my account! The shameless part comes in here: If you want to support our website while requesting your free $25, sign up through my referral link above. It'll only take you a few minutes. Then you can start sending your friends to your own referral link, and get $10 for each sign-up you recruit, up to $500! (This is good through April 15.) I'm pretty sure Crystal has already gotten 50 people to sign up through her link... so if you're a regular reader and want to help support this site, I'd be thrilled if you'd consider signing up through the link above. ;) Updated to add: Thank you so much to everyone who signed up using our referral link! It is such a blessing. I'm still gathering some thoughts related to this unexpected (to me! Because Abba knew...) blessing... Shannon, that's perfectly fine! :) I would not want anyone to sign up if they were uncomfortable doing so. :) I think the reason they require a SSN is because it is a bank. :) I did look to make sure it was a secure webpage (lock on browser) before I put mine in though ;) I was all for it, and quit at the same place. After all thee places nowadays, not necessarily being unlegit (did I make up a word lol), but being hacked into, and it happens to numerous companies, I know. But identity theft is so ramped right now, I don't want to take the chance. I read Joshua's post, and still I don't feel right about it. Now if you accepted donations through PayPal, I'd be all for it!! But I know you weren't on here asking for money, I've been on those websites before, and ugh! ~Jules I signed up using your referral...now my question is...my balance is 0.00, but there is a link down below to accept the $25 from RME, but when I click it it doesn't bring my balance up. Any ideas?? Did you have the same problem?? Or do you know what I did wrong? I haven't added a checking account yet, but I signed up for the service. Sounds great! :) -- Tammy, I signed up, too! Thanks for letting us know about this. I also researched the company, as did several people on Crystal's site. There are also many newspaper articles about the new company floating around...they are legit! Blessings! I believe this deal is if you sign up for the Revolution credit card, not if you use your account through Revolution Money Exchange. They are run by the same company, but it is a bit different. Go to buy.com and you'll see links for the credit card deal there. I am always skeptical of these sort of "deals" but this is legit. They are a real company composed of renowned Internet tycoons like former AOL Chairman Steve Case. Here is an example news piece about Revolution Money Exchange from the Washington Post. Former AOL chairman Steve Case is at it again, this time using his Revolution LLC investment firm to start a new credit card company he's calling Revolution Money. Revolution Money will allow merchants to use Internet technology to circumvent traditional fees of 1.9 percent that credit card networks charge, sources said late Sunday. He's calling his credit card the Revolution Card, and it also will allow money transfers between consumers, similar to PayPal. The new company will have some well known names on its board. AOL vice chairman emeritus Ted Leonsis will chair the new company, said the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they had not been authorized to talk about the venture. The board also will include former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers, former Mastercard CEO Russell Hogg, and former Charles Schwab chief executive David Potruck, the company plans to announce Monday. AOL's Ted Leonsis blog has an entry on Revolution Money and this company has also been covered in the news (e.g. MSNBC). They are FDIC insured and this promotion has been active for a couple months. There is big money in venture capitolism. In this case you have well known industry people making a powerplay to compete with PayPal and CC companies. While giving away money sounds crazy, I know of internet companies who paid in excess of $100 to attain clients who paid no more than $8 a month for a basic service. They are betting on a longterm investment and forcing themselves into the market. Well thank you so much, first of all, for taking the trouble to comment back on my blog. My second batch of challah- one loaf split, one didn't! I kneaded for a longer time. Who knows. It's still delicious either way. Secondly,I signed up with you as my referral through RME. And thirdly, Ruth is the most beautiful little girl-you are very blessed. That is very odd about the challah -- one loaf splitting and one not! I wonder if we need to let the strands rest for a few minutes before braiding... would that maybe make a difference?! Now I'm so curious. :) Thank you for signing up under my referral, and thank you for the compliment -- we feel very very blessed!! :) Tammy, do you still have referrals left? Thought I'd ask before starting the sign-up process. I have been enjoying your blog for several weeks! Thanks you for all the helpful pointers and recipes. Post new comment |

I tried to do it but when it asked for my SSN I quit. My husband does network security for the Army and he has beat into my head about putting too much personal info on the internet. Asking for my SSN was too much. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I'd rather be safe then sorry.
