Kitchen Tip Tuesdays: Easy sour cream dispenser

For serving sour cream with dishes like tacos, fajitas, nachos, or taco salad, we like to be able to dispense the sour cream evenly and in small portions across the item.

Sour cream, spread over baked nachos meal

To make a convenient and inexpensive dispenser, fill a small zip lock bag with sour cream. Seal, and cut off one of the bottom corners, leaving a 1/4-inch hole in the bag. Squeeze bag to dispense sour cream.

Bag can be refilled, or tossed when sour cream has expired.

Wow! You're on the ball!

So glad to see you posting this week. I half way didn't expect you to, since you had such an exciting week. But I should've known better! : )

Kitchen Tip Tuesdays

I have been turned onto your wonderful KTT and I love it! I just wanted to say thank you for making a day for all of us to share tips! :)

WOW!

Glad to see that we are going to be able to share tips today! Great tip to use a bag for sour cream. I have seen where people get those ketchup dispensers like what restaurauts use for their sour cream too.

Hope you are resting and enjoying your new little one!

We do this too!

I have a clear plastic bottle (ketchup bottle, only clear). I have it filled w/some sour cream. And since it doesn't have a cap, I use a toothpick. (one w/a wider end, usually ones w/the plastic thingees on one end)

I also have one w/some oil in it too. I try not to fill them w/too much tho. I don't want it to go rancid, if I don't use them everyday.

I have seen this tip used for decorating cakes too! Just put a tip in the corner of the bag!

Kitchen Tip Tuesday

This is the first time that I have participated in Kitchen Tip Tuesday. Being as it is my first time I only put my name in and forgot to tell you all what my Kitchen Tip is all about! So, I'll tell you now.

My Kitchen Tip is about how to make super soft and healthy whole wheat baked goods. It also includes a recipe of our Favorite Cornbread!

Thanks!
