I think the dough is the best part! ~Ruth U.

I must confess, it was hard to publically admit that I eat raw cookie dough!

I'll take it a step further and admit sometimes I only make cookies to get a taste of the dough, LOL!

I try to make it not so guilty by making it with the powdered Egg Replacer. Otherwise, I won't eat the dough (anymore - I did growing up!). My friend had Salmonellosis really bad, so that kind of cured me of the habit. At least you still get the same taste of cookie dough if you make it w/o the eggs! (I've also heard that substituting soy flour and water works well, too.)

I eat cookie dough. And when it comes to raw eggs, the majority (not all though of course) of samolnilla (sp?)bacteria on eggs is from the shell and then the contamination of the egg when it touches the shell. Wash the outside of your egg off really well before cracking it and you reduce (almost completely) your chances of getting bad bacteria. (Source: Makers Diet)

I love cookie dough. It's even better if you warm it up in the microwave until the dough is soft and the chocolate is just melted, and eat it with a cold glass of milk...

Sure I sneak a bite when the kids are not watching and tell them you can't have it since it has raw eggs in it.

That is so bad of me to do that I know :(

I don't want them to get sick and here I got taking a chance!

How strange... I've never understood the appeal of raw cookie dough. It always sounded pretty gross to me.

I do love to eat cookie dough, one of the reasons that I've since started using vegan cookie recipes. My nephew for a while was allergic to eggs, and I found out that I was sensitive to them - so I've just cut back on them. I don't feel so guilty now when I know that it doesn't have raw eggs in it. :)

Oh boy do I have a weakness to raw cookie dough. Yum! I have to admit, I do sneak a little when I make those chocolate chip cookies.
But, I don't let the children. LOL

I have a cookie recipe that uses chow mein noodles that tastes okay baked. However, it draws rave reviews before baking! I remember in college the guys would congregate like flies whenever one of my roommates would make the dough!

My husband really likes eating raw cookie dough. But... there is that whole "raw egg" issue, especially living in Africa as missionaries like we do. So- I made a teensy batch for him to snack on and use water for the egg. :-) And I use half oil for the butter so it's soft straight out of the fridge for him since he's sanitary and likes eating it with a spoon. :-)

I don't like raw cookie dough. The texture is so pasty and it tastes way too sweet to me. I know I'm probably in a very small minority with this one. :oD

I'll eat it but not much at all. Just a taste. I feel much better about eating it too when we use our homegrown eggs in it. =)

We all love cookie dough here. I have a recipe for Chocolate Chip cookie dough balls that has NO eggs but taste just like the dough. Everyone can eat it and not feel guilty. YUMMY!!!

I recently heard someone tell of a "recipe" for cookie dough truffles they make. Instead of using eggs, they said they use sweetened condensed milk in their favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, then make balls of the dough. Freeze the balls just to make them easier to work with, and dip into melted chocolate. Voila! Cookie dough truffles! Hey ~I think I found the recipe:
