If you have some wheat and a blender, you can quickly and easily make some Whole Wheat Berry Pancakes!
These are Joshua's favorite pancake, and very healthy! The recipe was given to us from a friend, Judy, when we were first married. (She also gave us a huge supply of chemical-free Montana wheat!) Since I've never owned a wheat grinder, I love that I can use my blender to combine whole wheat berries and milk for these pancakes.
For Mother's Day, Joshua got me a blender! (Our old one had collapsed on us a couple years ago.) Now I'm back to making these yummy pancakes. ;)

Tammy, where do you get your
Tammy, where do you get your wheatberries? Are you able to get them in a regular grocery store?
Wheat berries source
Beth, I'm actually not sure where the best place is to purchase wheat berries. I have a 5-gallon bucket that was given to me, which we've been using to make flour and pancakes. (I believe it was ordered online, by someone else -- not by us.)
I think some bulk food stores or health food stores might sell the plain wheat berries.
As far as the grocery store... does anyone know??? :)
Wheat Berries
I just posted this recipe a week or two ago. I got the recipe for blender pancakes using whole grains from Sue Gregg's cookbook, and that's the only place I've ever seen it.
As for buying wheatberries, I get mine from a co-op. I buy fifty pounds every other month. I spend .68 a pound for organic white winter wheat.
I have picked them up at the natural food store, too.

Wheat berry pancakes
Thanks for sharing about your source for wheat berries! :) I tried to find your blog post about blender pancakes, but wasn't able to... Maybe the next time I talk to the friend who gave us this recipe, I will ask her if she remembers where she originally got it! :) I've never heard of Sue Gregg before. :)
