Cinnamon Apple French Toast recipe

This week's featured recipe is a delicious breakfast created by my husband, Joshua. Cinnamon Apple French Toast is one of our new favorites!

We like to use wheat bread for a hearty french toast, and the homemade cinnamon apple topping is just sweet enough (though definitely not as sweet as syrup!!). This Cinnamon Apple French Toast is much healthier than apple pie or doughnuts, but will still satisfy those who have a breakfast sweet tooth. ;)

I love your website and have been wanting to try something....today I decided I'd start with the Cinnamon Apple French Toast since I have some delicious "Pippin" Apples (got them in VA). IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!! My children really liked it, too.
Thanks for sharing this...I would recommend it for any Bed and Breakfast - it's a little different than normal breakfasts but not so far out that picky eaters wouldn't like it. GOOD JOB!!! :)

Thanks for the heads up!

Nice catch. It looks like the recipe was created but wasn't published for public viewing. Us adminstrators can "see everything" so sometimes we can go to a page others cannot. Sorry about that!

Btw, this is a very tasty recipe. I suggest cooking the apples longer or using apple juice instead of water to give the filling a little more flavor :)

I had the same problem. . .

I thought "Oh, this will make a fabulous Sunday lunch while we wait for maple syrup season!" only to find the link said "Access Denied."

So, I made up my own recipe. I used apple cider instead of water, flour instead of cornstarch (curious to see how that reheats) and only a tablespoon of sugar. My husband said I did a good job of guessing, but now I'll look forward to trying your recipe.

I rate myself 9/10.

Ooops!

What kind of cooking website posts about recipes and then refuses to share the actual recipe? :) Sorry about the mix-up... can I claim "mommy-brain"? :) Thanks for letting us know, and I'm glad to hear that some of you tried and enjoyed the recipe! :)
