Breast-fed children have better visionNews Target is reporting that the January issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has published an intresting study that indicated that breast-fed infants have better vision as young children than those who were not breast-fed.
As interesting as the article is, the concluding paragraph summerizing past studies about breast-feeding is quite shocking:
Pretty amazing stuff that mommy's milk. Even more so when you consider it changes over time to adapt to the needs of the growing child. I am also a big fan of breastfeeding. Al my four children are breastfeedet. You will probably know all the benifits for the baby/todler but also the mother is better of with breastfeeding. And (very important!!) IT IS SO EASY! Ones you are becomming handy in it. Take your time in the beginning, it might take a few weeks before you are both on the track, than just follow the baby. When he/she is hungry, just feed! It is a realy big time and moneysaver, besides all the health benefits. My kids are realy clever, social and caring people. And no, like "people" think, spoiled because they got breastmilk whenever they wanted.. Need we say more....God's way is the best way. I believe they will never come to the end of the benefits of breastfeeding. Why on earth do we (as in humans) continue to try to manipulate and corrupt what was perfect to begin with? Anyway. I am still breastfeeding my 16 month old looking forward to nursing my new baby due the first of July. Thank you for sharing such wonderful information. Post new comment |

My mother tried to breast-feed my older sister. She wasn't producing enough milk to do it. I, myself, was immediately put on soy formula. I am not sure this was before or after I was having digestion problems. It was fairly close after my birth though.
