I voted 1-2 times/per month.

I voted 1-2 times/per month. It probably averages out to that over the year since we use the crockpot more in the winter than the summer.

I put 2-3 times a week but

I put 2-3 times a week but often I am using several crock pots at a time on just one day. I actually have 5 crock pots! I have a large oval one that I cook meat in. A large round "soup and bean" crockpot. 2 medium size side dish crock pots. And one small one that I use for gravy. I like to have company but prefer to have every thing prepared ahead. I need this help too since I have goats to milk often right before company arrives. With the CP's I can do things like make the gravy and put in my little crockpot to keep warm until company arrives. I also use crockpots a lot for the Sabbath (Friday night to Saturday night). I like to cook but don't cook on the Sabbath. I put Saturday's lunch (and sometimes breakfast) in crockpots on Friday evening to cook overnight to be ready for us the next day.

I love my crock pot! I have

I love my crock pot! I have two of the Fix It and Forget It cookbooks and have gotten my $$ worth from them long ago. =D It is so much cheaper than cooking in the oven, and nice for if I have to go out for the afternoon.

Great for Sunday Sabbath

My family keeps Sabbath on Sundays (as most Christians who still believe Christians ought to keep Sabbath do). We go to church on Sunday mornings, and try and do as little work as we can in the kitchen on Sundays. A lot of times, I'll throw ingredients in the crockpot either on Sunday morning or Saturday night, and when we get home from church, there is a wonderful, hot meal already prepared! :) That is when I use it the most often (at least a couple of times each month, usually), but I'll also use it some days when we're going to be really busy, or eat at different times.

I have the same problem! Could we have been using the wrong type or make of crockpot I wonder.

less than once a month, but..

I love my crockpot! I would use it everyday if I could.

Slow cooking

I first ran this poll a couple years ago but thought I'd run it again as I have slow-cooking on my mind this hot week! :D

2 times per week

Cookin’ in the crock pot is a great money saver for us. We live rural and on the day we go to town, we utilize the crock pot. It is so nice to have dinner ready and waiting as we are unloading our groceries and such. Also we like to use this method of cooking for Sunday lunches. It is so easy to use, just stuff the crock, turn it on and come home to a nice pot roast or whatever you wish. One of our favorites is http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Slow-Cooker-Pepper-Steak/Detail.aspx add garlic, use low sodium soy sauce and put the peppers in the last 30 min. of cooking.
Tammy I hope it is okay to put a link to another recipe site here….

I chose "Less than once a month". I don't use it nearly as much as I'd like to. I might if we had more counter space and i didn't have to move everything to use it/plug it in! lol

Crock Pot

I use mine 2-4 times per week during the school year. Things are hectic enough without having to mess with making dinner! That way we have a good, healthy, frugal, and pleasant dinner after sports practice or whatever!

I use mine a whole lot more

I use mine a whole lot more than I did before, because my oven is not working and my husband needs to fix it. :( I am longing for some fresh baked cookies...

I'm a never. My crock pot

I'm a never. My crock pot is a tiny one from my single days, so it's really only good for dips or appetizers. A full size slow cooker is on my list of things to scout out at garage sales, but no luck so far.

Why I never use a crock pot.

I used to use my crock pot once a week, then it went toes up. The difference in my electric bill for not using the thing were surprising, so I never replaced it. Of course, I live where electricity is expensive. (I go around unplugging everything not in use. You'd be stunned at how many watt-hogs you have!)

I switched to a swift cooking pressure cooker instead of a slow cooker. I make time for cooking and just reheat or thaw when needed.

I forget

when I do use it it takes up counter space

Crock Pot Wednesday

I use my Crock Pot often especially during the school term. However, I find that it saves money and heat in the kitchen during the hot summer months as well. I like experimenting and adapting recipes for it, so I started a blog event on diningwithdebbie.blogspot.com to share some of those ideas. I would love for you and your readers to join me there if they desire. It's loose, fun and economical. One thing that readers can do if they want to cut back on electrical usage is to use a timer with the appliance. Residual heat is usually enough to hold the food safely for an hour. Thanks for the poll.

I use my crock all the time.

I use my crock all the time. I voted 2 or 3 times a week. This is based on the months that I use it the most, which is in the fall/winter and parts of spring. I don't use it as much in the summer months because I do a lot more grilling outside during those months. Our crockpot is a life saver. I can put my meals in it and forget about them until dinner time. This means I can go off and shop or do whatever for the day. It is also quite handy when I have a lot of chores and gardening too. It stretches our budget because I can use cheap cuts of meat in it and they turn out wonderful every time.
