We made some hearty herb bread (it was delicious, by the way!!), and I was, as usual, doing several things at once, so Yehoshua decided to help. He got out a cooling rack and put on my oven mitts. I didn't give him any instructions (he's 2.75 years old), so he must have seen me do this before. ;)

Plop! Out comes the hot loaf of bread. Yehoshua thought this was really fun to do.

He carefully turned the bread over...

...and adjusted it on the rack...

...and then covered it with a towel.

Amazing! He's such a big help these days. And children learn so much from watching what we do.

Wow!
Kids are often much more grown up than we give them credit for. I bet you're one proud mother.
He looks like a good helper
Good for Yehoshua!

That is just too cute!
It's amazing what kids learn from us even when we don't think they're looking. (Yikes!! That thought can be terrifying!) :O) He looks so proud of his accomplishment in that last picture. Good for him!
Awww.
That's just great! You never know, maybe in a year he may be able to make his own loaf of bread (like a basic one with 4 or 5 ingrediants). Thanks for sharing thse pictures, they brightened my day as my days lately are not going well. ;-)

Good for you in letting your children work along side of you! I think it is very important. Why not let them learn to work while they are excited and want to help? Children are so capable of doing things at an early age. And working, playing, studying together is so important for families.

Helpers
Thanks for the sweet comments you all shared. :) Sometimes I do better about having "little helpers" than others (I imagine most people have their moments, like I do!) but it's especially fun when they actually do something really truly helpful!! :)

Since I just skimmed this entry at first, I thought the picture was of you, Tammy. I was thinking, wow, those oven mitts are HUGE!
Oversized oven mitts
LOL! I think this has to be the first time anyone has mistaken Yehoshua for me! ;)
