Greetings from snowy Ohio

A while back, someone asked what our childrens' names meant, so I wrote about their names. Then, someone asked for an audio clip of the pronunciation of their names. ;)

If anyone is still interested, here is a little audio clip of Joshua and me talking with Yehoshua (1.3 MB mp3; opens in a new window).

Totally spur-of-the-moment, but we had fun doing it, and you'll get to hear their names. :) I sound a little silly, but oh well. :)

And if you listen to it, you'll hear that we got some snow, finally!! :) Just 2 days ago, some friends gave us a little children's sled, and today Yehoshua just had a blast riding in it and pulling it around outside. :)

That was so neat to hear ALL of you talking!
Yehoshua sounds like a very smart boy!
Thank you for doing that!

That was really cute, I liked hearing your son's voice. We had some snow here but it rained and now its turned to ice. Not much fun when the boys are always falling down. Shari

Thank you!

My family really enjoyed hearing this clip...I'd been telling them how cute Yehoshua is and how well he can pronounce things, and now they got to hear him themselves. :-D Thanks for taking time to record and share this!

Thank you

How neat! I am glad to know how you all sound like! LOL. And the pronunciation of the little ones names! ;-)

he's so cute and you have a very pretty voice!

How sweet :)!

I loved that :)! Yehoshua's little voice was so adorable and you have a very sweet voice :). It will be fun to be able to "hear" you when I read your posts in the future.

sweet!!

That was really fun to hear. I'll have to show the children tomorrow. :) You have a sweet voice, Tammy. Hearing you all talk, brought back the sweet memories we have of visiting with you all at your home. :)~Tanya

Hah! Put a smile on my face. :)

Josh - you sound exactly the same as I remember from YEEEEEEARS ago talking about GameStorm. And oddly enough, Tammy, if I didn't know it was you talking, I might mistake you for my aunt.

Too funny.

Great post, it was fun hearing everyone. Enjoy the snow!

How fun!

It was fun listening to the audio clip. : ) Yehoshua is so precious! And you do have a lovely voice.

I had been wondering how exactly Eliyahu was pronounced.

AWWW! So cute! I have been

AWWW! So cute! I have been saying Yehoshua's name wrong ALL this time! I thought it was "ho" as in hop not "ho" as in hoe. Now I know.

You know, you sound so - hmm, how to describe it - sophisticated and mature. I guess because your accent reminds me of a lady I know from church who I think of as "all together".

It was nice to hear you all talking.

Love, Lucy x

Our voice post -- thanks

Thanks for all the fun comments, everyone! We loved doing the sound clip. I think we'll have to plan some more of those. It only took a few minutes to do, thanks to my husband's mad computer skillz Wink

Just got to listen to this

Just got to listen to this because I am down at Graham's. I hadn't heard any of your voices before so that is fun to put voices to your faces. :D

Yehoshua sounded so cute! :)

Thanks, Lindsey!

Thanks, Lindsey! I'm glad you liked it! :) It was fun to do, and I'm already brainstorming my next "voice post"! :)

That was a cute idea Tammy.

That was a cute idea Tammy. Being a born and raised Buckeye myself... I recognized the "accent"! ;-) You guys have been getting some COLD and icky weather up there!! I suppose this isn't the time to let you know it's been in the 60's and sunny down our way
;-) There are plenty of things I miss in Ohio... but cold, icy winters aren't one of them!! Stay warm!! Diane

Snow :)

Thanks, Diane. :) We're snowed in, but we have electricity, and Joshua's snowed in WITH us, thankfully (he left for work but came back, as a "level 3 snow emergency" had been issued, giving him the day off work)! :)

Okay, I know this sounds ridiculous

Tammy, I loved hearing this clip and I know I must sound so stupid...... but here goes. This has really thrown me for a loop. I have been faithfully reading your blog for a little while and I have already come up with how to pronounce your boys' names.... I had them way off and now trying to retrain this old brain of mine is really going to be fun.... By the way, it's so funny to not realize, but I already had a voice for you and Joshua in my mind, as I feel like I know you both so well, and now your voices don't match my mind either..... Well, I have always been this way..... Like how I had an image of Dave Ramsey in my head for so long, and when I saw him it was like so way off. I still catch myself thinking him up like I see him when I hear him on the radio..... Does anyone else suffer from this, or am I the only weirdo out here? I do love this though, it's just this post has been on here for a while and I cannot believe I never saw this before. I feel the big "duh" coming on and I just hate saying that! I must say I was totally shocked by your age and impressed you have been blessed with so much knowledge at such an early age, but it is funny that I am so much older, but look to your post frequently for advice..... Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you and yours, Deena Barton

Oh, funny!! :) I should do

Oh, funny!! :) I should do more voice posts/podcasts. :) I need to remember how... since it involves a microphone and all that! :)

I think that a lot of people are like you and imagine someone looking or sounding a certain way. :) I do that sometimes but not always! :)

I do like to see pictures of people though. I feel like it really helps me connect their writing with them as a real person... just like me. :)
