We had a morning full of baking! Actually, we tried a total of 3 new recipes today, and I was quite pleased that all of them were delicious! It was a fun morning and I know Joshua enjoyed lunch. ;) I love days like this when I don't have to go anywhere and can spend the whole morning HOME! :D These Whole Wheat Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies are an original recipe invented by Crystal's sister (she didn't say which sister, so I can't specify!) and they're very good!
I, of course, wrote up my own directions and took pictures of mine and posted the recipe here. You can check out my recipe for my review and more details, and there's also a link there to the original recipe. :)
If you are one of the people who have submitted a favorite recipe for us to try, thanks for your patience! The other two recipes I made today were reader-submitted and I'll be blogging about them in the next couple days. I have several more to try soon! :)

Cookies
These sound great - I have a question though. I've never used shortening in baking other than piecrusts. Do you have to use the butter flavored shortening or with regular plain shortening taste ok? It would certainly be cheaper than using butter all the time!
Shortening in cookies
Catherine, you can use plain shortening in recipes, like these cookies. :) I've actually never used butter-flavored shortening, ever. :) But, I usually use butter instead of shortening, anyway. Shortening makes the perfect pie crust, but I stopped buying it so I wouldn't be tempted to feed it to my family! ;)
And I usually use shortening
And I usually use shortening instead of butter in cookie recipes.... =)
Those look delicious!
mmmm.....
They look good, Tammy. :) I use butter in my cookies too. :)
