User Reviews Wonderful comfort food
This was so good. It was slightly chilly here today and I quickly printed it off for a fast and delicious warm comfort food. I added about 1 tsp of thyme just to add a little more of a comfort flavor. Definitely adding it to the recipe file. Thanks!

Delicious
This recipe was easy to make, and very tasty! Instead of using celery, I used frozen mixed veggies and we loved the results!

Another Keeper!
My stuffing mix did not have the seasoning mixed into it. So I added ½ tsp sage, ½ tsp of poultry seasoning to the sauce. Then (because it was in the fridge) I placed 4 slices of Swiss cheese over the chicken mixture before I added the stuffing mix. It bakes up so nice. Creamy inside with a crunchy top. YUMMY! One of our new favorites. Thanks Tammy! DeDe

Comfort meal!
I gave this an 8 only because I did not follow the recipe to a T.I used can cream of mushroom soup and instead of celery and onions I used a small head of broccoli.Dh and I liked it and said we would make it again following the recipe next time.
This time I made it with what the recipe calls for.I did thicken it with corn starch instead of flour though. It was very good.Everyone liked it.I did add in lawry's,garlic powder and chicken boullion for seasonings.

We give it 10
I made this for dinner tonight and it was a huge hit! It was so tasty and comforting on a CHILLY night. All the kids asked for seconds. This will become a regular meal here now! I used leftover 'Oven Roasted Chicken' so the flavor was REALLY tasty. Thanks for another delicious recipe!

Loved it!
The first time I made this, it became one of my husbands favorite requests. It really is just so good and so simple. I make this sometimes when Im out of inspiration because it can be easily thrown together and everyone loves it.

A Hit
This is a great, comfort-food recipe. All my kids and my husband loved it. I added thyme for a little seasoning. I also added slices of swiss cheese. I put them on top of the mixture before adding the stuffing. To make the recipe even easier, I did not cook the stuffing before putting it on top of the mixture.

Tasty!
I was surprised at how much my boys liked this! I didn't have celery so added celery seed, some garlic and onion powder instead of onion and some broccoli like the other poster said! It was excellent!

Excellent - and here are a few tips to make it better.
My wife is learning how to cook, mostly using recipes from this site. She is doing an amazing job, and coming home to this recipe was a treat--so good, I plan to whip up a version this weekend.
Building on the flavors in this recipe, I would suggest increasing the onion to 2 medium onions, but slowly carmelized until golden brown. Then, cut the milk back to 1 1/2 cups, while including 1/2 cup of dry white wine. These two ingredients will add depth and complexity to an already delicious foundation.

a great homemade dish
This dish has just a wonderful flavor and homemade appeal! My dh was very excited to see this come out of the oven after a long day at work. I did add lots of celery (yes, even the tops for tons of flavor) and carrots as well. The sauce was perfect.
The only reason this dish received a "9" instead of "10" is due to the number of dishes used to make it. With lots of littles running around, I am used to making one-dish meals and I just felt a bit overwhelmed. Yet the meal was worth it - next time I will simply do a better job at occupying the children before starting dinner.
Thanks so much~

An excellent chicken stuffing casserole dish
This recipe is wonderful!! It was easy to make, and the smooth, creamy-chunky chicken layer topped with stuffing went just perfectly. The stuffing got a little dried in the oven, which I thought was wonderful!
I only had 6 ounces of stuffing, but it still tasted great! I also didn't have celery on hand (oops!) so I used a sprinkling of celery seed instead.
We all LOVED this. It's definitely going into our recipe box as a favorite. Thanks for the great recipe, Nicole!!
