Easy Beef Stroganoff

Easy Beef Stroganoff

A tender beef stroganoff seasoned with onion, garlic, pepper, and sour cream, served over egg noodles

4-6 servings

1 pound inexpensive beef steak or roast, such as chuck roast, London broil, Texas broil, etc.
1 medium onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tablespoon oil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/3 cup flour
3/4 cup sour cream
salt, to taste
4-6 servings of egg noodles, cooked according to package instructions

1. Slice meat thinly; saute meat in oil over medium heat along with the onion, garlic, and black pepper.

2. Whisk together the milk and flour, removing all lumps. When meat is fully cooked, add milk mixture and bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.

3. Lower heat and stir in sour cream. Salt to taste and serve over freshly cooked egg noodles.

This easy beef stroganoff recipe is so delicious! It's mostly my own creation, using ideas from a variety others. It turns out consistently great and is one of my favorites! It can also be a great use of leftover steak! My rating: 10/10

very good meal
I used ground turkey instead of beef and added 3 TB of worcestershire sauce for added flavor. It was a good weeknight meal, easy to prepare and tasty. My husband enjoyed it and stroganoff is one of his favorite meals.

Yummo!
This was super easy and we loved it!I had used a can of cream of mushroom soup and put it in a big measuring cup.I added the soup, milk to equal the 1 1/2 & 1/3 cup so it was the same amounts. It worked great!

A good comforting meal
I made this last night using leftover roast, and it was really good. I particularly liked how it had good flavor without having to use cream of mushroom soup (previous versions I've made always used it). The only thing I did different was substitute part of the milk for some beef broth that was also leftover with the roast. It worked. =) Thanks for the great recipe.
