
Slices of challah bread dipped in a sweet and flavorful egg and milk mixture, cooked and served with fresh fruit or maple syrup!

1 large loaf of challah bread (about 1.25 pounds), sliced about 3/4-inch thick
8 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Butter or oil, for frying
Powdered sugar, syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream, for serving
1. In a large, shallow bowl, lightly beat eggs. Add milk, vanilla, honey, and cinnamon. Stir or beat gently until mixed.
2. Pre-heat a large griddle or skillet over medium heat (or slightly lower than medium heat) and add oil or butter. Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees, with an oven-safe 9x13-inch glass dish inside.
3. Dip several slices (enough to cover the surface of the skillet or griddle) of challah into the egg mixture, thoroughly coating the bread. Place slices on the hot griddle and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until done. Place cooked slices in the dish in the oven to stay warm while you continue cipping and cooking the rest of the slices.
4. Serve challah French toast hot, with with your choice of syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream. Enjoy!

Challah French toast is a delicious day-after breakfast for leftover challah! It's quick and easy, and tastes really yummy! The shape of the slices is pretty, too. :) I like mine with fresh fruit. :) My rating: 10/10
